“Just recently using the ‘Sparkles Laundromat’ in Southampton…I thought here is a Small business that goes unrecognized and it makes such a contribution to BOTH our year round and Tourist population.

It doesn’t make a lot ‘noise or fanfare’ but quietly operates in our community and silently makes a big impact.

I believe BOTH Port Elgin and Southampton are of the same ownership. BOTH are….as the name implies….Sparkle with cleanliness. I sometimes see the owners (or staff) working late at night cleaning and working on machines. Always, always are they both in pristine condition daily….365 days of the year.

As a retailer, I often ask where my customers are from and what brings them to our town. In the summer, so many say they are from Sauble Beach area that come to do their laundry here.

Imagine a tourist destination that draws more tourism than we do without Laundry facilities. I can only thank the town of Sauble as it has introduced us to many great customers. I will never forget the day a man came in and said he was doing the family laundry and wanted to buy a gift for his wife. He did and after cash out said,” this is the most expensive Laundry trip I have made.”

When there are events to give out awards for Small Business….I hope all will keep in mind this wonderful operation and just where would we be without it!”
